ReMeal was honoured to participate in the Malaysia Food Bank Convention 2025, held on 8 and 9 December 2025 at the Bangi Avenue Convention Centre. The convention brought together policymakers, industry leaders, non-governmental organisations and social enterprises with a shared commitment to addressing food insecurity and reducing food waste in Malaysia.
A key highlight of the convention was the invitation extended to our Chief Executive Officer, Anis Hanani, who participated as one of the panel speakers in a session titled “Sifar Pembaziran Demi Keterjaminan Makanan”. The discussion focused on the importance of eliminating food waste as a critical step towards ensuring food security.
During the session, our CEO shared insights from ReMeal’s experience on reducing food waste from an economic standpoint. The conversation highlighted how surplus food redistribution can create value for businesses while creating positive social and environmental outcomes. It also touched on the role of digital platforms and collaboration between different sectors in connecting surplus food with communities in need.
Beyond the panel session, the convention provided an important space for learning and exchanging ideas among organisations working toward the same goal. ReMeal is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to these discussions and to connect with partners committed to building a more sustainable food ecosystem in Malaysia.
As we move forward, ReMeal remains committed to working alongside stakeholders across sectors to reduce food waste, strengthen food security, and create meaningful impact for communities across Malaysia.
