On 22 April 2025, ReMeal was honoured to participate in Taylor's University Lakeside's Earth Day event, an occasion dedicated to promoting sustainability and environmental consciousness.

The university's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) committee played a pivotal role in advancing sustainability initiatives on campus. At the event, ReMeal showcased our impactful efforts to combat food waste, highlighting the success of our MYSaveFood initiative during Ramadan, where we rescued nearly 70 tons of food surplus from Ramadan Bazaars across all states in Malaysia. Additionally, we are proud to share that 126 stores have joined our platform, thereby amplifying our reach and impact.

Taylor's University launched a Waste War Campaign in conjunction with their recent Earth Day celebration.

To engage the audience, we presented an educational model of Nasi Lemak, illustrating the timeline and effort required for each raw ingredient to be cultivated and transformed into this beloved dish. We brought along two boxes of surplus food purchased from one of our popular sellers on the ReMeal app — Cafe Chef Wan. This was done to demonstrate that surplus food sold through the ReMeal platform still maintains exceptional quality and taste, effectively challenging common misconceptions about surplus food.

ReMeal's participation aimed to inspire students to develop a deeper appreciation for their food and embrace a sustainable culture of purchasing surplus food, reducing waste, and preventing unnecessary contributions to landfills. Through our efforts, we strive to foster a mindset where food is valued, not wasted.
